An ink cartridge component can be replaced in the ink-jet printer that contains ink that spread on paper during printing. Whatever technology is applied to printer hardware, it depends on ink and printer paper. Two entirely different types of ink are used in ink-jet printers such as dye based and pigmented.

Dye Based Inks
Dye based inks have brilliance and wide colour gamut which is not water fast enough. They take about ten seconds to dry as they are slow in penetrating. The dye based inks are better suited to straightforward monochrome printing.

Pigmented Inks
The pigmented inks are better water-proofed and fade resistant and fast drying which dry at about 100 times this speed. This ink is better option for colour printing. The pigmented inks are that shine in colour printing, different inks are mixed; they need to dry as quickly as possible to avoid blurring. The colours have a propensity to bleed into one another before they’ve dried, if slow drying ink is used for colour printing.

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) ink cartridges are Epson, Canon, and Hewlett Packard. If you buy a few OEM ink-jet cartridges then your will find the cost of buying them is more than the cost of the printer itself.

Compatible ink cartridges are manufactured by a company other than the original printer manufacturer. There are a large number of ink-jet cartridges manufacturer in the UK. The compatible ink-jet cartridges are completely new, generally reliable and perform as well as brand name cartridges.

Remanufactured ink-jet cartridges are a cartridge, which has been refilled with ink. Therefore most of the people prefer to refill their own in cartridges.

It is easy to source cartridges for Epson, Hewlett Packard and Canon printers. The Epson type has fixed print head in the cartridges. The Canon produces printers of both types and a halfway system with a removable print head unit takes small cartridges.

Epson ink-jet printers use cheaper cartridges that are only in tanks. It consists of one draw-back; if the printer is used occasionally the print head can dry out and become blocked. Then the printer is likely to be dead and is difficult to clear the blocked print head. Other ink-jet printers, from HP, Lexmark and Canon also have the print heads in the cartridges; hence if proper ink is not used they will suffer from blocked print head. Epson introduced these chips to make it difficult for the compatible cartridges makers to produce cartridges for the new series of Epson printers. Chipped ink-jet cartridges tend to cost slightly more than the not chipped ink cartridges.

The photo quality paper and coating technologies enhance the performance advantages of compatible ink-jet cartridges to the fullest, which ensures the optimum print quality.

Ink cartridges are a replaceable component which contains ink that is spread on paper during printing. It is the most important part of the printers. It is impossible to carry out any printing job without ink cartridges.

Ink cartridges supply the ink to the printers to create the required text or image. It is very expensive and to solve this problem you can opt a cheaper way to keep your printer running. It is better to purchase new ink cartridges which can be refilled every single time the current ink cartridge runs out of ink.

To avoid the ink cartridges from getting damaged it is better to refill the ink cartridges with ink when it starts giving print outs in which the text or the image appears to be faded. Ink cartridges must be refilled with only the required amount of ink. If you refill the ink cartridges with more than the amount then it will cause some problems such as the ink cartridges will run over. It can be absorbed with sponge to remove the unequal proportions. If more amount of ink is poured in the ink cartridges it will start leaking and give prints with poor quality.

Ink Jet Cartridges
Once the ink in the ink jet cartridge is over, you will have to buy another ink jet cartridge and it is expensive. Although the thought of restocking your ink cartridges is a wise decision than buying new ink cartridges every time, there are few things that you have to be cautious about.

Make sure that the refill kit you will be using is for your printer model. There are some ink jet printer models that are used for business use and make use of oil based inks, while water based ink jet printers that are used at home. If you are purchasing thermal bubble ink jet printers then it will need an ink that will stay constant at higher temperatures than piezoelectric printers.
You must avoid refilling these types of ink cartridges more than a couple of times. There are possibilities that the print head will get worse in turn causing damage to your printers.
